Dieser Sektor umfasst alle unsere Stellenangebote zu Fondsmanagement und Asset Management. Beim Fondsmanagement (der sog. „Buy-Side“) geht es darum, das Vermögen von Kunden anzulegen und dafür eine Gebühr zu kassieren. In vielen Fällen handelt es sich bei den Investoren um Pensionsfonds oder „institutionelle Anleger“. Es kann sich aber auch um private Investoren, Regierungen oder Unternehmen handeln. Unsere Stellenangebote im Asset Management umfassen alle Stellen bei Fondsgesellschaften, die u.a. in Aktien, Anleihen und Rohstoffe investieren. Ferner gehören hierzu auch Jobs bei Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). Dabei handelt es sich um Investmentfonds, die einen Index nachbilden und daher über kein teures, aktives Fonsmanagement verfügen. Desweiteren finden sich hier auch Absolventen- und Traineestellen, die eine Karriere im Asset Management eröffnen.
Traditionell verfolgen Fondsmanager sogenannte „Long only“-Strategien, bei denen beispielsweise Aktien oder Anleihen aktiv vom Management ausgewählt und gekauft wurden. Viele Investoren platzieren auch weiterhin den Löwenanteil ihrer Vermögens in derartigen Fonds. Daneben gewinnen alternative Investmentfonds an Bedeutung, die beispielsweise auch bei fallenden Märkten Gewinne generieren können.
Grob gesagt fallen die Berufe im Fondsmanagement in zwei Kategorien: aktive und passive Fondsmanager. Aktive Asset Manager versuchen eine bessere Performance als eine Benchmarkt zu erzielen, wobei es sich beispielsweise um den DAX handeln kann. Dagegen versucht das passive Management einen Index möglichst genau abzubilden. Die einfache Generierung von Renditen, die dem Markt entsprechen, wird auch als „Generating Beta“ bezeichnet.
Investment-Berufe – Bei diesen Berufen geht es um die Investition der vom Asset-Management-Unternehmen verwalteten Vermögen. In Investment-Berufen sind generell entweder Finanzanalysten tätig, die genau überprüfen, welche Unternehmen und Produkte sich am besten für eine Investition eignen, oder aber Portfoliomanager, denen die letztendliche Verantwortung für die Investmententscheidungen für eine Reihe von Fonds obliegt – gleich, ob es sich dabei um Aktien, Anleihen oder alternative Investments handelt.
Distribution-Berufe – Distribution umfasst Berufe in Sales, Marketing, Produktentwicklung und Kundenbetreuung. Bei ihnen allen geht um den Verkauf der Dienstleistungen eines Fondsmanagers an die Kunden. Die meisten Stellen im Bereich Distribution konzentrieren sich auf die Schaffung neuer Geschäfte und die Pflege bestehender Kundenbeziehungen.
Asset Manager stellen auch Research Analysten ein. Diese ganz und gar nicht glamouröse Funktion umfasst die enge Zusammenarbeit mit den Portfoliomanagern, den Besuch von Unternehmen zur Bewertung ihres Investitionspotenzials und die Auswertung von Kauf- und Verkaufsinformationen sowie Unternehmensberichten.
Wie im Investment Banking steht auch eine Auswahl von Middle-Office-Stellen im Fondsmanagement zur Verfügung, darunter in Bereichen wie Compliance, Operations, Performance Messung und Risk Management.
