Dieser Sektor enthält sämtliche Stellenangebote aus dem Bereich Informationsdienstleister. Sie werden zumeist von Unternehmen angeboten, die Informationen für den Finanzdienstleistungssektor offerieren. Diese Informationen werden oft genutzt, um Investment-, Trading- oder Kreditvergabeentscheidungen zu unterstützen, können aber auch verwendet werden, um in Erfahrung zu bringen, welche Performance bestimmte Banken oder Geschäftsbereiche erbringen. Zu den Unternehmen, die in dieser Branche tätig sind, zählen z. B. Rating- und Nachrichten-Agenturen mit Finanzschwerpunkt.
Rating-Agenturen wie Fitch, Moody's und Standard & Poors bewerten die Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass Unternehmen und Staaten, die auf öffentlichen Märkten gehandelte Schuldtitel emittieren (z. B. Emittenten von Anleihen oder Derivaten), diese Schulden vollständig und rechtzeitig zurückzahlen werden. Sowohl der Emittent des Schuldtitels als auch der Schuldtitel selbst erhalten Ratings, die ihre Bonität ausweisen. Zu den Emittenten können Corporates (Großunternehmen), nationale Regierungen, Regionalregierungen und internationale Organisationen gehören. Die sichersten Schulden, die mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit zurückgezahlt werden, erhalten eine Triple A (AAA) Bewertung. Die unsicherste Schuldner erhalten eine CCC-Bewertung (oder D), was einem Zalungsausfall gleichkommt.
(Kredit-)Rating-Agenturen beschäftigen Heerscharen von Informationsanalysten, um die Kreditwürdigkeit von Kreditgebern zu bewerten. Die Junior-Berufe bei Informationsdienstleistern konzentrieren sich üblicherweise auf die Datensammlung und -analyse, während Senior-Analysten mehr Verantwortung für die Interpretation von Daten und die Vergabe von Bewertungen übernehmen. Agenturen benötigen Personen mit mathematischen Kenntnissen, die Modelle zur Unterstützung des Rating-Prozesses erstellen. Je nach der Art des bewerteten Emittenten bzw. des Kredits werden auch Sektorspezialisten und Personen gesucht, die die Auswirkungen des makroökonomischen Klimas auf die Rückzahlung von Staatsschulden verstehen.
Datenanbieter stellen Finanzmärkten und Medien wichtige Informationen in Echtzeit zur Verfügung, z. B. die Kurse von Aktien, Anleihen, Devisen und Rohstoffen. Sie bieten auch Finanz- und Wirtschaftsnachrichtendienste über eine Reihe von Medienkanälen. Die Datenanbieterbranche wird von Thomson Reuters und Bloomberg dominiert. Es gibt indes auch kleinere spezialisierte Unternehmen wie Dealogic, das Berichterstattung über globale Kapitalmärkte, Kreditmärkte, Fusionen und Übernahmen bietet.
Berufe bei Datenanbietern umfassen unterschiedliche Informationsdienstleistungsberufe für Universitätsabsolventen, darunter Datenanalysten (Analyse von Informationen über Unternehmen und Industriesektoren) und Journalisten (Analyse und schriftliche Sonderberichterstattung über aktuelle Finanznachrichten) sowie Stellen in Technologie (IT- und Softwareentwicklung) und Business Development (Evaluierung und Entwicklung des Unternehmens).
Sowohl Datenanbieter als auch Rating-Agenturen bieten eine Reihe von „operativen Stellen“ an, u. a. in Buchhaltung, HR, IT und im technischen Support.
